While Zynoka is a new business, it has been years in the making. Zynoka's founder, Dorian Dowse, has over 30 years of animation experience to draw from. He spent seven years making game characters for the Unity game engine for Virtual Songlines. When Apple's ARkit for facial motion capture came out, he jumped right in, and the seeds of Zynoka Avatars was born. Two years of development has resulted in a reliable workflow for using facial motion capture to drive custom 3D characters. We can now present this to the world as a unique new service allowing this technology to be available to all.
Dorian Dowse - Director
Dorian studied Visual Arts and Drama at USQ. He started 3D animation for video back in 1990. Over the years he has been on the cutting edge of various technologies. In 1993 he founded one of Australia's first web design companies. Later on he was a pioneer in web based multimedia with Macromedia's Shockwave. He then moved on to Flash and then game development where he specialized in 3D characters.
Beetle Mayela - Mocap Artist
Beetle studied acting at QUT majoring in Drama and Performance. She is a multidisciplinary artist with experience ranging across screen acting, singing and Japanese Butoh Theatre.
Todd Macdonald - Mocap Artist
Todd is a very experienced actor and voice over artist. He is a NIDA graduate who is best known for his roles on the soap opera Neighbours and the drama series The Secret Life of Us and Rush.
Piper Mae - Mocap Artist
Piper studied at USQ and now works as a performing artist specializing in children's entertainment.
Carles Gutierrez Sanfeliu - Mocap Artist
Carles is a singer and musician of Spanish background. He currently performs with his one man show "Sanfelu".
Bec Mac - Mocap Artist
Bec is an artist, creative entrepreneur and Queen of Arts Communication who has founded innovative game-changing work LOVE TV, POPSART Artsmedia and more recently Chrysalis Projects creative placemaker.
Zoe Houghton- Mocap Artist
Zoe is a NIDA graduate with over 20 years experience acting on stage and screen.
Nathan Clarkson - Unity Developer
Nathan has a Masters in Communication and and Undergrad in Electro-Acoustic Music. He has worked for several years as a Unity game developer making games, VR and AR.
